Based on field analyses, the contributions will be dispatched around four themes : 1. School curriculum preparing for the working world, as well as the role of oral and written language skills in technical and vocational training (texts, handbooks, audio-visual documents, reports, reference materials...). 2. Writing and communication skills play an important part in the workplace today. How have teaching methods and on-site vocational-training taken this evolution into consideration? What practical applications, educational tools and measures have been used? 3. Training, which implies to reflect the consideration upon the knowledge used in all kinds of activity, calls for the use of all modes of communication. In this regard, what problems are raised when taking into account the nature and analysis of knowledge used in the workplace? 4. How can semiotics in the workplace be established as teaching matter in the education system? In this framework, which technical aspects of culture should be favoured?
